An important special issue of Paediatrics and International Child Health has been published online today, entitled 'Child Maltreatment and Neglect: understanding it and responding to the challenge'. The issue contains 15 original articles on topics including physical abuse and neglect, shaken-baby syndrome, child discipline, mental health issues, sexual abuse, genital cutting and child soldiers. Copies of the print issue are available to buy for GBP£10/US$16.

New for 2014: Acta Clinica Belgica New for 2014: CRANIO

Maney is pleased to confirm a new partnership with the Belgian Societies of Internal Medicine and Clinical Biology to publish Acta Clinica Belgica: International Journal of Clinical and Laboratory Medicine from 2014. Acta Clinica Belgica publishes papers on clinical medicine, clinical chemistry, pathology, and molecular biology, with a readership including physicians, pathologists and pharmacists practicing internal medicine and its subspecialties.

Maney has purchased, and will publish quarterly, CRANIO: The Journal of Craniomandibular & Sleep Practice, the oldest and largest journal in the world devoted to temporomandibular disorders. Dr Renata Schiavo, a global health expert specialising in international communication and public health, has been appointed Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Communication in Healthcare.

Dr Schiavo will explore new ways to unlock the Journal's full potential and to expand and redefine its scope, starting with the addition of the new subtitle: Strategies, Media and Engagement in Global Health.
