We are seeking presenters for the conference programme. Our theme this year is 'Challenges in Sign Language Teaching'. We welcome all people involved in sign language teaching and learning to offer a presentation or workshop on the following areas: • Teaching above beginners level • Teaching challenging NZSL grammar structures • Update on NZSL community classes: funding, organisation, availability • Using digital media to teach NZSL • Encouraging learning outside the classroom • Mentoring: improving teaching awareness and skills We welcome other ideas for presentations and workshops. All presentations and workshops may be: • Lecture-style (30 minute presentation, 10 minutes for questions); or • Practical workshop (1 hour or 90-minute) How to apply Please fill out the following form and send to us: Email: conference@nzslta.org.nz Post: NZSLTA Conference, PO Box 13-498, Johnsonville, Wellington 6440 Important dates 31 May 2010: Think about doing a presentation or workshop. Fill out the form and send back to us before 31st May. 30th June 2010: We will let you know by 30th June if you have been accepted to do a presentation or workshop. 26th Oct 2010: Please send your PowerPoint file and handouts before 26th October for back up and photocopying.
