This coming Sunday the graduation week of the third batch of International Institute for Social Entrepreneurs participants will start.
Three days long, on the 27th, 28th and 29th of November 2011, all participants will present their dream speeches.

Echo - Start up of a community radio
Nelson from Liberia has seen war, destruction and torture. Due to war the the rate of people with disabilities has been increased drastically. The 15 years of civil crisis that took place in Liberia where many people died, created disabilities and brings about disunity amongst ethnic groups with many social problems. Therefore he want to use the power of community radio(ECHO) as communication for empowerment to: -socially unite those ethnic groups; -give voices to the common (marginalised) society, and -bridge the gab between the disabled and the mainstream society. Echo will focus on programs for people with disabilities mainly.

Patarissa from Thailand wants to start the first preparatory school for blind children in her neighbouring country Lao.
To finance this venture she has started a leadership agency for blind and sighted peers.

Blind plus - To change the negative concept of low vision into blind plus.
Shihab from Kerala/South India became low vision only a few years ago. He experienced many challenges: besides being discriminated against he discovered that society doesnýt have a real concept of what it means to have some sight. People with low vision feel that they donýt belong to any group, neither sighted nor blind. The concept low vision doesn't make it better. Shihab wants to reformulate this concept from low vision into blind plus.

Liberia has a high number of blind people but not too many have the opportunity to go to schools or to find adequate jobs.
Femi wants to set up a program that assists the blind in being integrated in regular schools and he wants to offer training for those who try to find suitable vocations.

Vygas discovered that orphans in Lithuanian orphanages often are not prepared properly to participate in the regular society.
He wants to start a training center in which he trains 18 years old orphanage graduates in life skills. Additionally he wants to give them the opportunity to enroll in voluntary services in IISE graduates projects.

She wants to rebuild a truck and together with her husband and a guide dog she wants to travel through the Andes to teach blind people in computer skills and other useful techniques.

Drolma has big bone disease and due to her disability she was not accepted to regular schools. Drolma wants to change the mindset of Tibetans who believe that disability is a result of bad Kharma. She wants to open a coffee shop as a meeting point for concerned local and international organizations and potential beneficiaries.

Thula Sizwe (Do not cry my country) - To teach church leaders compassion for people with HIV.
Nosisa from Zimbabwe lost her father due to HIV Aids. The church shunned her family. HIV is a huge problem in Zimbabwe, one out of 4 is currently infected. Nosisa wants to create awareness amongst church leaders in order to integrate people with HIV.
